In practice for more than 30 years, Dr. Daniel Walters is a friendly, attentive doctor serving his patients in Chicago, IL. After graduating from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and serving his residency at Westside Community Hospital, he opened his practice in 1983, and has remained in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood ever since.
Dr. Walters is certified by the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery and the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, and is a member of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery. He extends his education by attending seminars with emphases on podiatric surgery, diabetic foot care, drug interactions, wound care, antibiotic therapy, rehabilitative medicine, and conservative care. Specialties include diabetic foot care, sports injuries, fungal nails, crooked toes, bone spurs in various parts of the foot, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Walters decided to pursue a medical career in high school. He chose to specialize in podiatric medicine, a decision that has proven to be deeply rewarding in the decades since. He loves building relationships with patients, and the opportunity to serve them and their families. In many cases, Dr. Walters has provided treatment for three generations of family members! He is proud to have appeared in the Guide to America’s Top Podiatrists every year from 2006 to 2014, and has no intention of retiring anytime soon—it’s still fun to come to work every day.
When not at work, Dr. Walters enjoys spending time with his two young grandsons. His hobbies include fishing, hiking, coin collecting, and model trains.
